NEW! English Conversation through Films B2

Elevate your English from intermediate-advanced to articulate! This 15-session conversation course uses the power of modern cinema as a dynamic springboard for debate and in-depth cultural analysis. You will watch seven instructor-selected feature films independently—exploring genres, narratives, and cinematic techniques. Key clips will be played in the classroom to emphasize cinematic and cultural themes for discussion, while the majority of film viewing will be done outside the classroom. Each lesson is focused on building sophisticated vocabulary and critical fluency, teaching you to confidently critique narrative structure, analyze symbolism, and construct nuanced arguments. Students will learn to discuss this great modern artform while practicing natural, confident English. This course offers both improved communication skills and a deep cultural dive into film as a global art form.

Note: Students are responsible for independent film viewing (streaming/rental). Optional group screenings at the Filmhaus Nürnberg will be organized throughout the duration of the course, but outside course hours (additional ticket cost applies).
