At the beginning of the 20th century the Royal Bavarian Railway company decided to build a residential estate for the workers at the local railway yard. This neighbourhood was known as the Railway workers’ village and considered as exemplary throughout Germany. Find out more about the idyllic counterpart to a modern workplace, the daily life of people in those times.

Irene Ramorobi: English teacher in practice; historian at heart. Irene grew up in Nuremberg, studied history, specialising in Bavaria and Franconia, and has spent over 20 years teaching English at the BZ Nuremberg, giving tours and lectures.
